NMSU held a gathering at the Pan American Center on February 5th to celebrating the 40th National Girls & Women’s Sports Day!

The Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) was established in 1974 to advance the lives of women and girls through sports and physical activity. Their stated mission is to enable all girls and women to reach their potential in sports and life. WSF partners with more than 1,000 champion athletes across the country to help further their mission.
One of WSF’s initiatives is the promoting National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Feb. 4, 2026 marked the 40th Anniversary of National Girls & Women in Sports Day. NGWSD honors the achievements of women athletes, coaches and leaders, and the power of sports to unlock their limitless potential. New Mexico State will be acknowledging NGWSD on February 5 at the Pan American Center where the Aggies will host Sam Houston in a conference matchup.
NM State Volleyball (via Facebook): So much fun celebrating our fellow women in sports at last night’s @NMStateWBB game!! Go Aggies!
On February 4, NMSU recognized NGWSD by posting photos of just a few of the women who represent the Aggies… both on and off the field of play.
