Las Cruces police officers issued 47 citations during a one-hour traffic enforcement operation held Thursday morning along north Main Street.

The 47 citations included 22 for speeding, 10 for having no proof of vehicle registration and eight for operating a vehicle without proof of insurance.

Other citations were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

The traffic enforcement operation began about 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. LCPD anticipates conducting similar traffic enforcement operations in the coming weeks.
