Doña Ana Fire Rescue crews responded to a structure fire in La Union Saturday afternoon.



Firefighters were dispatched just before 2 p.m. and quickly ensured all occupants were safely evacuated. With assistance from Sunland Park Fire Department and West Valley Fire Department, crews were able to contain the fire within 15 minutes of arrival while preserving the structure.

The barn fire (on the 7200 block of Westside Dr in La Union) was “well involved” along with a car port and a vehicle. Several horses were removed from the barn prior to our arrival. Sunland Park FD Engine-2 and Squad-2 initiated fire attack. Fire under investigation by DAFR
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
