SANTA FE ─ The Taxation and Revenue Department will hold live delinquent property tax auctions in Doña Ana and Luna Counties in late March and April, allowing in-person attendees to submit bids for the properties.
The auctions are intended to collect delinquent property taxes when taxes have been delinquent for at least three years. The state notifies delinquent taxpayers about the taxes due and planned sales of property. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.
Auctions have been scheduled in the following counties:
- Doña Ana County, 10 a.m., March 30, 845 N Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M. 88007
- Luna County, 10 a.m., April 14 & 15, Luna Auction Site – 700 S Silver Ave. #5, Deming, N.M. 88031
Successful bidders are required to make payment in full prior to the conclusion of the auction by money order, certified check, cashier’s check or a personal or business check if accompanied by a bank letter of credit that guarantees payment in at least the amount bid.

Registration begins in person at 8 a.m. on the day of the auction and ends promptly at auction time. Bidders must be registered to participate.
If all accounts are paid in full in advance of the auction, the auction will be canceled.
