Schools

Both Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) and Gadsden Independent School District (GISD) will be closed Friday, with no classes scheduled. DACC will also be closed Friday, April 3, 2026 in observance of the Spring Holiday.

County Government

Doña Ana County offices will be closed to the public on April 3 following a Spring Holiday designation approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Emergency services and law enforcement will remain operational.
Normal business hours will resume Monday, April 6 at 8 a.m.

City of Las Cruces

As of this writing, no closures have been announced by the City of Las Cruces, and city services are expected to operate on a normal schedule.

Trash & Solid Waste

The South Central Solid Waste Authority has indicated no service disruptions on Friday, April 3.
Holiday observance is limited to Easter Sunday (April 5).

Banks, Mail and Markets
  • Banks: Generally open, as Good Friday is not a federal banking holiday
  • U.S. Postal Service: Open, with regular mail delivery
  • Stock Market: Closed in observance of Good Friday

What This Means for Residents

While April 3 is not a federal holiday, local observances will result in a partial closure across schools and county offices, with most city services, mail delivery, and banking operations continuing as normal. Financial markets, however, will not be in operation.

Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly, particularly for school schedules and any business with county offices.
