Las Cruces Police Hiring Lateral Officers

Laterals are eligible for 40 hours of personal leave upon hire and begin accruing additional leave immediately.

The Las Cruces Police Department is offering up to $35,000 in recruitment, retention and relocation incentives for commissioned law enforcement personnel who are in good standing with their current department and wish to laterally transfer to LCPD.
 
Law enforcement officers who are commissioned in New Mexico, or have at least two years of certified law enforcement experience outside of New Mexico, are eligible for consideration.
 
Recruitment and Retention Incentives offered by LCPD:

  • At Hire: $10,000
  • Completion of FTO: $10,000
  • Completion of 1-Year Probation: $10,000

An additional $5,000 relocation assistance incentive is available for those who qualify.

Lateral transfer officers can anticipate a salary between $30.27 and $36.33 per hour depending on their current years of experience in law enforcement. Lateral transfers are also immediately eligible for overtime pay.
