The City of Las Cruces Quality of Life Department /Public Art, in partnership with the Las Cruces Fire Department, is looking for an artist to paint a mural on an exterior wall on Fire Station 2, 1199 E. Foster Road. The design will be reflective of the Chiva Town history of the neighborhood as well as the role of firefighters.

Artists can submit their letter of interest and resume for consideration. Three artists will be invited to submit a concept design and will receive an honorarium. The winning concept will be chosen by the public. Mural project will begin tentatively in early June 2026 and must be completed by June 30.
The deadline to apply is Monday, April 20, 2026. Interested artists can find more information and the link to apply by going to LasCruces.gov/PublicArt.
