Film Las Cruces and Dona Ana Arts are bringing together a free Earth Day screening of the documentary American Hemp Farmer, which was recently released on PBS
Synopsis: : After a wildfire nearly turns his family (and goats) into refugees on their remote New Mexico ranch, former suburbanite Doug Fine and two other families set out to discover food security and wildfire mitigation around the world via hemp and other crops. American Hemp Farmer: the film with a climate game plan for all.

Director Doug Fine says, “I am so grateful to the southern New Mexico film community, to Film Las Cruces, NMSU and the DACC Film Department for making this New Mexico-shot film such a prominent and free Earth Day event in Las Cruces. It’s an uplifting and unifying film and a ray of hope on Earth Day. There’s something we can all do about extreme climate.”
The film is airing now nationwide on PBS stations, with 40 station airings so far across every U.S. time zone. That includes KRWG here in New Mexico in prime time on Monday, April 13, at 9 p.m.
