Locally shot film, “3”, releases on streaming services

Produced by local production company Tiburón Film, 3 is a feature film that was shot in 2024 and released on streaming platforms today. 3 is directed by Peter Ney, known for “Straight Up Steve Austin,” “Snack vs. Chef,” and “Food Network Star,” and is produced by native New Mexicans Sandra Steele Deerman and Patricia Dinges, along with Parker Clark and John P. Aguirre, whose credits include “Alien Code,” “The Utopian Society,” and “Buddy Bear’s Musical Adventures.”

The production stars Anna Grace Barlow (“Jesus Revolution,” “The Big Leap,” “Blue Bloods”), Caleb Ruminer (“Finding Carter,” “The Irrational,” “Dirty John”), Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts (“Runaway Train,” “Star 80,” “King of the Gypsies”), and award-winning actor Michael Paré (“Eddie and the Cruisers,” “Streets of Fire,” “The Philadelphia Experiment,” and “The Virgin Suicides”).

Synopsis: (Romance, USA) When a barfly fortune teller warns Kai that he has only three days to live, the lonely artist steps out of his shell and meets Mia, a woman who changes everything. As their connection deepens, Kai is forced to confront his fears and discover the beauty of truly living and loving. 3 is a poignant story about embracing life and seizing the unexpected moments that matter most.

Director Peter Ney says “Filming in Las Cruces reminded us why location matters — the desert doesn’t just set the scene, it becomes the story.”

3 was filmed in and around Las Cruces, including at Palacio Bar in Mesilla, downtown Las Cruces, St. Andrew’s, Chope’s in La Mesa, and many other locations.

3 will be released on a number of streaming services, including Prime Video, Fandango, Google Play, DirecTV, and Apple TV, on May 5.
