As part of the bilateral military relationship between Mexico and the United States, from May 11 to 13, 2026, 77 students from Mexico’s National Defense College participated in a study visit to the facilities of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado, U.S.
The students engaged in discussions with U.S. Northern Command leaders focused on national defense functions, defense support to civilian authorities, security cooperation and logistics, as well as operations along the shared border.

This academic activity enhances cooperation procedures that contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the Mexican and U.S. Armed Forces, under the guiding principles: reciprocity, shared and differentiated responsibility, mutual trust, and full respect for sovereign decisions and territories.
