Hiker Treated for Dehydration During Rescue at Aguirre Springs

According to Doña Ana Fire Rescue, crews responded to the popular recreation area for a search and rescue involving a 45-year-old hiker.

First responders from Doña Ana Fire Rescue and partner agencies assisted a hiker suffering from dehydration Thursday afternoon at Aguirre Springs in the Organ Mountains.

According to Doña Ana Fire Rescue, crews responded to the popular recreation area for a search and rescue involving a 45-year-old hiker. Responders were able to locate the individual, provide treatment at the scene, and ensure the hiker’s condition had stabilized.

The hiker declined transportation to a medical facility and was released at the scene.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue thanked its partners at New Mexico State Police, Organ Mountain Search and Rescue, and Doña Ana County Search & Rescue for their assistance.
