City of Las Cruces Holiday Schedule

Most City of Las Cruces offices and facilities will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Police, fire, and other emergency services will continue normal operations.

Facilities closed for the holiday include:

  • City Hall
  • A Fielder Memorial Safe Haven
  • Youth Development & Diversion Program
  • East Mesa Recreation Center
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center
  • Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and branch libraries
  • City museums
  • Senior Programs facilities and services
  • Visit Las Cruces
  • South Central Solid Waste Authority administrative offices
  • Roadrunner Transit administrative offices

Services and facilities remaining open include:

  • Solid waste collection operating on regular schedules
  • Foothills Landfill open regular hours
  • Corralitos Landfill open 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Amador Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., open 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Doña Ana Collection Sites open 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Roadrunner Transit Fixed Route and Vamonos operating normal schedules from 6:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m.
  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center open for open gym from 1–5 p.m.
  • Regional Aquatic Center open 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Natatorium open 6–11 a.m.
  • Laabs Pool open noon–3 p.m.
  • East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool offering two swim sessions: noon–3 p.m. and 3:30–6:30 p.m.

The Rio Grande Theatre and other Quality of Life venues may host Juneteenth-related events on various dates.

Doña Ana County Offices Closed

Doña Ana County offices will also close Friday, June 19, for the holiday. Emergency services and field law enforcement operations will continue without interruption.

Administrative offices for the Sheriff’s Office, Detention Center, and Fire Rescue will be closed. County offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, June 22.

New Mexico Department of Health Schedule

State public health and administrative offices operated by the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) will be closed Friday, June 19, and will reopen Monday, June 22.

The NMDOH Helpline will remain available during normal business hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can call 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) for health questions, healthcare connections, provider support, vaccination records, and vaccine scheduling assistance in both English and Spanish.

Federal Offices Observe Holiday

Federal offices nationwide, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Finance Center, will observe the Juneteenth holiday on June 19. While offices and contact centers will be closed, online applications and automated systems are expected to remain available.

Employees and agencies working with federal payroll systems should be aware of adjusted processing schedules associated with the holiday.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for any government business before the Juneteenth closure and to verify operating hours for individual agencies and facilities before visiting.
