Woman Found Inside Mesilla Home After Caretaker Reports Suspicious Activity

When deputies arrived they entered the residence and found a female naked in the bathtub.

On June 19, Mesilla Marshal and DASO deputies were dispatched to a residence on McDowell St, reference to a residential burglary in progress.

The caretaker of the residence noticed the door opened to the residence and as he entered heard noises upstairs. The caretaker exited the residence and called dispatch. When deputies arrived they entered the residence and found a female naked in the bathtub. The female was removed by the deputies covering her with clothing and was arrested by Mesilla Marshals Detective.

The owner of the residence who was out of town was called and she said no one had permission to be in the residence.

Deputies also noticed the arrested female had caused damage to the residence. The female was identified as Christi Marie Poston, 46 years of age. Poston was charged with Burglary of a Dwelling (residence), Breaking and Entering, Criminal Trespass, and 2 counts of Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release.
