SUNLAND PARK — The Sunland Park Fire Department and Doña Ana Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire Thursday morning in the 200 block of Avenida Mirador.
Firefighters investigated after a resident reported the smell of smoke. No active fire was located.

The resident was advised to contact an HVAC contractor to inspect the home’s heating and cooling system. Fire officials noted that air conditioning units are working especially hard during the current period of high temperatures, which can occasionally produce odors or mechanical issues that warrant inspection.
