Sunland Park Fire Department Fire responded to seven fireworks-related brush fires across the community during Independence Day celebrations Friday night, according to officials. The incidents were all contained without injuries or damage to nearby structures.
The largest fire occurred in the 2000 block of Boy Scout Lane, where flames burned approximately one acre of undeveloped land. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to surrounding property.

No structural involvement or injuries were reported in any of the seven incidents. Fire officials continue to encourage residents to use fireworks responsibly and remain aware of dry vegetation and fire conditions during holiday celebrations.
