LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Doña Ana County Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public on Friday, July 10, to allow staff to participate in training. The closure applies only to the Treasurer’s Office, with normal business hours resuming at 8 a.m. Monday, July 13.
Although the office will be closed for in-person services, residents may continue to access information and online resources through the Doña Ana County Treasurer’s Office website. Officials encourage anyone planning to conduct business in person to do so before the temporary closure or wait until the office reopens the following Monday.

Led by Doña Ana County Treasurer Marisol Richardson, who became the county’s chief financial officer in 2024 after serving more than two years as chief deputy treasurer, the office manages a broad range of financial responsibilities on behalf of county government. In addition to collecting property taxes, the Treasurer’s Office receives payments for county services, licenses, bond revenues and special assessments, while also investing surplus county funds until they are needed for operations.
The Treasurer’s Office serves as the property tax collector for Doña Ana County, the City of Las Cruces, Hatch and Gadsden Public Schools, the State of New Mexico and other taxing entities throughout the county. Each year, the office mails more than 100,000 property tax bills and approximately 13,500 delinquency notices to property owners.
County officials also remind residents that the Treasurer’s Office collects property taxes but does not determine property values or set tax rates. Property valuations are established by the Doña Ana County Assessor’s Office, while tax rates are set by the various taxing entities and finalized through the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration.
