LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Visitors to the East Mesa Public Recreation Complex should expect temporary changes next week as construction continues on the baseball facilities and the playground closes briefly for a City promotional photo shoot.

Beginning Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, contractors will begin work at 4 a.m. each morning in the baseball area while pouring concrete during the cooler overnight and early morning hours. City officials said the early schedule is necessary to ensure the concrete can be properly placed and finished and advised nearby residents and park visitors that construction noise may be more noticeable during those hours.

n a separate announcement, the East Mesa Sports Complex Playground at 5275 Camino Coyote Lane will be closed to the general public from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, while the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department conducts a marketing photo shoot highlighting the innovative playground.
During the scheduled photo session, only children ages 5 to 12 who have been registered in advance by a parent or guardian and have a signed model release will be permitted to use the playground. The City said the photographs will be used in future promotional and marketing materials recognizing the playground and its role in the community.
Normal public access to the playground will resume following the completion of the photo shoot, while construction activities at the baseball complex are expected to continue through Friday, July 17.
