City Cashiering, County Treasurer’s Office to Close July 22 for Staff Training

While the Treasurer’s Office is closed, residents may continue to make property tax payments online through the Treasurer’s Office website or use the payment drop boxes located at the Doña Ana County Government Center.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Residents planning to make utility or property tax payments in person should be aware that two local government offices will temporarily close Wednesday, July 22, for staff training.

The City of Las Cruces Cashiering Program will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. During that time, staff will not be available to assist customers with utility bill payments or other cashiering services.

Utility customers will still have several payment options available, including the after-hours payment drop box located between City Hall and Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, the City’s 24-hour pay-by-phone system, online payments, Walmart cash payments, and one-time online payments. Regular cashiering services will resume after 1 p.m.

The Doña Ana County Treasurer’s Office will also be closed to the public on Wednesday, July 22, for staff training. The closure applies only to the Treasurer’s Office, with normal business hours resuming at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 23.

While the Treasurer’s Office is closed, residents may continue to make property tax payments online through the Treasurer’s Office website or use the payment drop boxes located at the Doña Ana County Government Center.

Officials with both agencies said the temporary closures are necessary to allow employees to participate in staff training while continuing to offer alternative payment options for customers.
