Three Las Cruces Firefighters Accepted Into Doctoral Programs

Fire department officials said the three firefighters’ acceptance into the competitive graduate programs reflects their commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Three members of the Las Cruces Fire Department have been accepted into doctoral degree programs, continuing a tradition of professional development that extends beyond emergency response and into higher education.

Lt. Christopher Johnson has been accepted into Oklahoma State University’s Ph.D. program in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. Meanwhile, Lt. Kyle Kozloski and Driver/Operator Kristin Wahlenhave each been accepted into the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at New Mexico State University.

Fire department officials said the three firefighters’ acceptance into the competitive graduate programs reflects their commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence. The advanced education they pursue will not only contribute to their individual careers but also strengthen the department’s ability to serve the Las Cruces community.
