Heavy rainfall over the weekend prompted response efforts across Doña Ana County, with local and state agencies assessing damage and working to restore affected areas.

Doña Ana County officials reported that several areas experienced significant rainfall and are asking residents to report any storm-related damage. While emergency personnel conduct windshield assessments to determine the extent of impacts, residents who experienced damage from the storms are encouraged to email oem@donaana.gov to assist with the county’s assessment efforts.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation also responded to flooding that affected several roadways throughout southwestern New Mexico. NMDOT District One crews cleared downed trees, debris and flowing water, while addressing fence damage along NM 146 and the Interstate 10 frontage road. As conditions continue to improve, maintenance crews will spend the coming days removing additional debris, repairing damaged infrastructure and restoring affected areas. Motorists are urged to slow down, watch for changing road conditions, remain alert for maintenance crews and equipment, and never attempt to drive through standing or flowing water. Drivers should obey all road closure signs and traffic control devices and give roadway crews plenty of room to work safely.
