Mesilla Marshals Office hosted ‘Bridging the Gap’ Collaborative Approaches to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Victim Rights for Officers & Advocates on July 17, 2026, at the Mesilla Community Center.
The event was attended by several law enforcement agencies, victims advocates, La Pinon Sexual Assault Recovery Center and numerous other groups. In total, more than 50 attendees participated in the event.
Mesilla Marshals Crime Scene Investigators assisted with signing in attendees, parking lot detail and serving free lunches donated by Andales Restaurant and Brown Bag Deli.
The conference was informative and well received by attendees, especially regarding updates to state statues.

In their announcement of this event, Mesilla Marshals Office offered a “special thank you” to Melissa Ames – Victim Advocate NM Victims’ Rights Project for the hard work involved with organizing the conference.
