The New Mexico Department of Transportation continues guardrail replacement work along Interstate 25 between Las Cruces and Doña Ana, with traffic control in place around the clock between mile markers 6 and 14.2. Reduced speed limits remain in effect while crews work weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers should also be aware of a northbound lane closure on NM 28 at the intersection with NM 101 (University Avenue) near Mesilla. The closure is the result of roadway repairs, and motorists should expect delays while following posted detour signs. No reopening date has been announced.

Within Las Cruces, roadway and traffic signal improvements continue at the intersection of Lohman Avenue and Walnut Street, where outside lanes approaching the intersection remain closed through approximately Aug. 7. In addition, contractors are relocating pedestrian crosswalk push buttons at the intersection of University Avenue and Valley Drive, resulting in periodic turning-lane closures through Aug. 14. As always, motorists are urged to slow down, obey posted work zone signs, watch for construction personnel and equipment, and use extra caution when traveling through active construction areas.
