Season 2 of “Ransom Canyon” is out for the world to see on Netflix

The second season employed more than 700 New Mexicans, including 380 crew members, 40 principal actors, and 300 background talent over the course of seven months.

New Mexico’s film industry continues to play a starring role in television production as the second season of a Western drama returns to the screen after months of filming across the state. Although the series is set in the Texas Hill Country, production relied heavily on New Mexico locations and hundreds of local cast and crew members.

According to the New Mexico Film Office, the seven-month production employed more than 700 New Mexicans, including approximately 380 crew members, 40 principal actors and 300 background performers. Filming took place in communities including Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Nambé, Santa Ana and Santo Domingo, highlighting the state’s diverse landscapes and growing reputation as a destination for film and television production.

State officials congratulated the New Mexicans who contributed to the production, noting that projects such as this continue to showcase the talent and capabilities of the state’s film industry while supporting jobs and local economies.
