Amazon Delivery Changes Affect Some White Sands Residents

According to White Sands Missile Range officials, Amazon has shifted many local deliveries to a third-party carrier whose drivers do not currently have the security credentials required to access the installation.

Residents of White Sands Missile Range may experience returned or undeliverable Amazon packages following a recent change in the company’s local delivery network.

According to White Sands Missile Range officials, Amazon has shifted many local deliveries to a third-party carrier whose drivers do not currently have the security credentials required to access the installation. As a result, some packages have been marked undeliverable and returned to the sender.

The installation’s Directorate of Emergency Services is working with delivery partners to develop a secure solution that maintains installation access requirements while restoring reliable package delivery. Officials said additional updates will be provided once a resolution is in place.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to check whether Amazon offers a standard shipping option, such as USPS, when placing orders and to consider using off-post delivery lockers or commercial shipping addresses for time-sensitive purchases.
