Happy Little Clouds: City Housing Team Decorates Door for Habitat for Humanity

The project uses the unlikely canvas of a household door to bring attention to Mesilla Valley Habitat for Humanity and its work surrounding housing in the community.

A donated door has become a Las Cruces landscape as the City of Las Cruces Housing & Neighborhood Services team participates in a community art project benefiting Mesilla Valley Habitat for Humanity.

For the “Open the Door” project, city staff channeled a little Bob Ross and transformed their door into a colorful landscape inspired by Las Cruces, combining local scenery with the project’s themes of community, creativity and Cariño.

The finished City of Las Cruces door will be displayed at City Hall through Aug. 28 before joining other decorated doors created for the project.
