Three New Mexico Army National Guard units marked changes in senior enlisted leadership during Change of Responsibility ceremonies, including two held Aug. 22 at the Las Cruces Readiness Center.
The ceremonies recognized outgoing senior enlisted leaders while formally transferring responsibility to their successors.
Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry
1st Sgt. Rolando Arnal relinquished responsibility as senior enlisted leader of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry, to 1st Sgt. Javier Figueroa during an Aug. 22 ceremony at the Las Cruces Readiness Center.
HHC Commander Capt. Aaron Mondrago presided over the ceremony.
The transition comes shortly before Arnal’s scheduled retirement next month.
India Company, 141st Brigade Support Battalion
A second Change of Responsibility ceremony at the Las Cruces Readiness Center marked a leadership transition for India Company, 141st Brigade Support Battalion.
Sgt. 1st Class Robert Wingo relinquished his duties as the unit’s senior enlisted leader to 1st Sgt. Juan Nuñez during the Aug. 22 ceremony.
Capt. Mallory Tucker, commander of India Company, presided over the transition.
Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry
Another Change of Responsibility took place at the Rio Rancho Readiness Center, where 1st Sgt. Justin Hallrelinquished responsibility as senior enlisted leader of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry, to 1st Sgt. Chase Martin.
1st Lt. Aaron Jones, commander of Alpha Company, presided over the ceremony.

Cabrera takes reins at Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – 1st Sgt. Javier Figueroa relinquished responsibility as the senior enlisted leader of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry, to 1st Sgt. Justin Cabrera during a ceremony today at the Rio Rancho Readiness Center.
Capt. Gregory Zanger, commander of Bravo Company, presided over the change of responsibility.
1st Lt. Philip Theisen served as master of ceremonies.
While Spc. Johnathan Archuleta is the company’s guidon bearer, Sgt. 1st Class Isaac Vigil served as the custodian of the guidon for the ceremony.
Today’s event was the first in a series of Change of Responsibility ceremonies for 1st Battalion.
Tomorrow, Capt. Mallory Tucker, commander of India Company (which is attached to 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry), 141st Brigade Support Battalion, will preside over a ceremony at the Las Cruces Readiness Center in which Sgt. 1st Class Robert Wingo will relinquish responsibility to 1st Sgt. Juan Nuñez.
Following that ceremony, Capt. Aaron Mondragon, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry, will oversee the change of responsibility from 1st Sgt. Rolando Arnal to 1st Sgt. Javier Figueroa at the Las Cruces Readiness Center.
On Sunday, 1st Lt. Aaron Jones, commander of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry, will preside over a change of responsibility from 1st Sgt. Justin Hall to 1st Sgt. Chase Martin at the Rio Rancho Readiness Ceremony.
