School safety and the role of the Las Cruces Police Department in local schools will be the focus of the next episode of “Bridging the Badge,” streaming Thursday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m.
Episode 30, titled “School Safety,” will look at the work of LCPD School Resource Officers and their efforts to build relationships with students while helping maintain a safe school environment.
The episode will also explore security measures being used in schools and the return of the D.A.R.E. program, along with the department’s approach to investigating threats involving schools.

Another focus will be communication, including the importance of providing timely information when potential threats are reported and investigated.
Together, the topics offer viewers a closer look at several parts of LCPD’s school-safety role — from the everyday presence and community engagement of School Resource Officers to the response that follows when a threat is reported.
“Bridging the Badge ep 30 | School Safety” will stream at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.
