The City of Las Cruces will bring its 2026 Music in the Park summer concert series to a close Sunday evening with Fungi Mungle performing at Young Park.
The free concert begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave. Food trucks will also be on site, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Sunday’s performance concludes a summer of free outdoor music presented by the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department.
A Summer of Music at Young Park
The Music in the Park schedule began at Young Park in July and has brought a different lineup to the park each Sunday, spanning oldies, country, rock, Motown, soul, jazz, folk, bluegrass and tribute performances.
This summer’s performers have included Geniee & The Starliners, Tequila Nights, The Dirty Low Down, Remember Then, Groove Runner, Windy City and Celebration, among others.
Fungi Mungle, billed by the City as a show band, gets the stage to itself for the final night of the series.
The City’s summer music season extended beyond the Sunday concerts at Young Park. Parks & Recreation opened its live music programming in May with a Mother’s Day concert featuring El Paso-based Grupo Éxito at Plaza de Las Cruces, followed later that month by the Mayor’s Jazz Fest.
Sunday’s Fungi Mungle performance brings that season of City-sponsored outdoor concerts to its scheduled conclusion.
