Man Airlifted After 25-Foot Fall at Mount Cristo Rey

Fire and medical units were dispatched to the mountain at approximately 3:25 a.m. following the report of the fall.

A 34-year-old man was airlifted to an El Paso hospital after falling approximately 25 feet onto jagged rocks at Mount Cristo Rey early Saturday morning.

Fire and medical units were dispatched to the mountain at approximately 3:25 a.m. following the report of the fall.

Emergency crews worked alongside U.S. Army personnel and U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector agents to reach and successfully rescue the injured man.

Following the rescue, the patient was transferred to the El Paso Fire Department’s Fire Star 1 helicopter for medical transport.

He was flown to University Medical Center in El Paso in stable condition.
