New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) Bureau Port Manager Ethan Johnson (left) proudly represented the New Mexico Department of Public Safety and the NMSP CVE Bureau at the 2026 North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC), held August 10–14 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Competing against 47 of the nation’s top commercial vehicle inspectors, Manager Johnson earned an impressive 14th-place overall finish. His individual results included 10th place in the Level I Inspection competition, 21st in the Hazardous Materials & Dangerous Goods Tank Inspection competition, 2nd place in the Level V Passenger Vehicle Inspection competition, and 27th on the written examination.

Manager Johnson’s outstanding performance reflects his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to commercial motor vehicle safety. He represented the NMSP CVE Bureau and the State of New Mexico with distinction, and his accomplishments are a testament to the high level of expertise and professionalism demonstrated by our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement personnel.
