Frances Hall Becomes Second Female Lieutenant in Las Cruces Fire Department History

Hall follows Kristen Blaschke, who became LCFD’s first female lieutenant and later rose to the rank of Battalion Chief before retiring in 2016.

The Las Cruces Fire Department celebrated the promotion and pinning of Lieutenant Frances Hall Tuesday, marking only the second time in the department’s history that a woman has achieved the rank.

Hall follows Kristen Blaschke, who became LCFD’s first female lieutenant and later rose to the rank of Battalion Chief before retiring in 2016.

The department recognized Hall’s achievement as a milestone earned through “hard work, dedication, and leadership.”

Adding a family connection to the ceremony, Hall was pinned by her husband, LCFD Battalion Chief Michael Hall.

“Congratulations, Lieutenant Hall!” the department wrote. “We’re proud of your accomplishment and excited to see you lead the way.”
