LCPD Gets a Labor Day Weekend Salute from NMSU Athletics

Members of the Las Cruces Police Department received a little Labor Day weekend recognition Saturday night as NMSU Athletics honored the department during the Aggies’ home football game against Mercyhurst.

For many of the people responsible for keeping Las Cruces running and safe, a holiday weekend doesn’t necessarily mean a weekend off.

Members of the Las Cruces Police Department received a little Labor Day weekend recognition Saturday night as NMSU Athletics honored the department during the Aggies’ home football game against Mercyhurst.

LCPD was selected as the game’s Hometown Heroes honoree, with members of the department attending the game at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

The recognition offered a public thank-you to members of a department that continues operating around the clock, including through the long holiday weekend.

“Thank you for serving Las Cruces—and ¡Go Aggies!” the city shared following the recognition.
