Traffic Report Update: Road Work Planned Across Las Cruces

Motorists traveling through any of the work zones should watch for posted signs and temporary traffic controls.

Drivers should expect lane closures and traffic shifts at several locations across Las Cruces through Wednesday as City and utility crews complete street maintenance and underground utility work.

El Paseo Road — Sept. 14-15

The right northbound lane of El Paseo Road north of Idaho Avenue will be closed Monday and Tuesday while City Road Construction crews perform street maintenance.

The closure may affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2. Access to nearby residences and businesses will remain open.

Sonoma Ranch Boulevard — Sept. 14-16

Traffic will shift through a taper on Sonoma Ranch Boulevard between Engler Road and Central Avenue Monday through Wednesday.

Renegade Construction will perform utility work associated with the Fire Station No. 9 project. RoadRUNNER Transit routes and bus stops are not expected to be affected, and access to residences and businesses will remain available.

Citizens Place and East University Avenue — Through Sept. 15

Intermittent lane closures are underway on Citizens Place between Memorial Court and East University Avenue, with additional shoulder work along East University Avenue between Las Alturas Drive and South Telshor Boulevard.

H&H Underground is performing utility work under a wire utility permit, including potholing on Citizens Place. The intermittent closures may affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2.

Rinconada Boulevard — Sept. 14-16

Intermittent lane closures are planned on northbound Rinconada Boulevard at Avenida de Carmen Monday through Wednesday while H&H Underground installs underground utilities.

The work may affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 3, although no bus stop locations are expected to be affected. Access to residences and businesses will remain open.
