Featuring 50 masks and five mannequins dressed in danza regalia, the works of art in this exhibit celebrate the artistry and creativity of Mexican mask makers, festival dancers, and their communities. “Dancing with Life: Mexican Masks” provides tangible evidence that mask-making is a contemporary artistic expression. It’s one that is influenced as much by current events and pop culture as it is by traditional and religious culture and imagery.

Stop by and see these amazing and unusual pieces of art! The exhibit is on display at the Museum of Art through Saturday, October 17.
“Dancing with Life: Mexican Masks” was curated by Dr. Pavel Shlossberg and organized by Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, Spokane, WA. Its tour is organized by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC.
