Golf: NM State Women Place 15th at Golfweek Red Sky Classic

Aggies turn in best score of the weekend in final round.

VAIL, Colo. – The NM State women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Wednesday, finishing tied for 15th in a strong 20-team field at Red Sky Golf Club’s Fazio Course. The Aggies posted rounds of 293-298-290 to finish at 881 (+17) for the week.
 
Leading the way for NM State was Rylee Salome, who carded a three-round score of 214 (-2) to tie for 34th overall. After opening with a 69 (-3) in Monday’s first round, Salome closed the tournament with a final-round 71 (-1) to secure the Aggies’ top individual finish.

Sophia Luna delivered NM State’s best round of the final day, firing a 70 (-2) to climb into a tie for 54th at 218 (+2).
 
Camille Pazouki finished tied for 83rd with a 225 (+9), while Carina Stauffer tied for 86th at 226 (+10). Linnea Olsson rounded out the Aggies’ scoring lineup, placing tied for 93rd at 228 (+12).
 
Competing as an individual, Alexandria Armendariz finished tied for 86th after posting a 226 (+10).
 
The tournament title went to Southern California, which finished at 47-under-par, while Scarlett Schremmer of Miami claimed individual medalist honors at 17-under-par to clear the field by three strokes.
