Heavy rain has washed out and flooded roadways across Doña Ana County

You never know how deep the water is or what may be underneath it.

Turn Around, Don’t Drown. NEVER drive through a flooded or barricaded roadway. Conditions can change quickly, and a road that was passable minutes ago may no longer be safe to drive through. You never know how deep the water is or what may be underneath it. If you can stay home this morning, please do.

If you must travel:

• Slow down and allow extra time.
• Never drive around barricades.
• Watch for washed-out roads, debris and standing water.
• Give emergency crews and road crews plenty of room to work.
