Public Works crews responded to flooding in the Goat Hill Road and Doña Ana Road areas, pumping water from retention ponds and clearing several feet of accumulated sand and debris from an arroyo crossing.
At Goat Hill Road, crews were using a flood pump capable of moving approximately 2,000 gallons of water per minute from the ponds to help prevent floodwater from reaching nearby homes.
Officials expected the pump to operate for about six hours, removing an estimated 720,000 gallons of water.
Crews were also working at the Doña Ana Road arroyo crossing north of Goat Hill Road, where approximately four feet of sand and debris had accumulated on the roadway.
