Aggies XC: NM State Records Strong Performances at Cowboy Jamboree

Thomas Croshaw takes 11th overall in season debut during the men’s 8k.

STILLWATER, Okla. – NM State made their first trip to the Cowboy Jamboree since the 2011-12 season on Saturday morning, competing with some of the best talent in the nation. Thomas Croshaw made his season debut, taking 11^thafter crossing the line with a time of 23:56.2, while Nia Allison paced the Aggie women, finishing 20^th overall with a time of 20:49.2.

Opening the morning’s action, the women’s 6k saw the field of over 170 student-athletes take to the Griener Family Cross Country Course. Allison tallied the top result among the Aggies, while fifth-year Aggie Khloi Bird finished with a time 22:13.1 to finish second on the squad. Trista Cordova (22:22.1), Eloïse Stuart (22:27.9) and Jordan Torres(22:30.3) finished in close proximity, taking 70^th, 73^rd and 76^th, respectively.

Sophomore Brooke Kelly tallied a personal best in Stillwater, posting a time of 23:17.9. Abigail Beam (23:51.8) and Murrie Dodge (23:53.2) rounded out the NM State entrants.

In the men’s 8k, Albuquerque native Thomas Croshaw recorded a time of 23:56.2, finishing 11^th in a race featuring more than 210 participants.

Junior Orion Chavez took second on the team with a mark of 25:10.9, while fellow junior and first-year Aggie Cal Schenpf tallied a time of 26:04.9.

Teammates with Schenpf at Mesa Community College, senior Nick Valle tabbed fourth among the NM State men with a mark of 26:19.

Brothers and teammates Derick Castellanos and Ethan Castellanos finished with times of 26:28.4 and 26:39.2, while Leo Valenzuela added a mark of 26:32.1.

A quartet of Omer Ibrahim (25:56.5), Michael Castorena (26:58.8), Antonio Arreola (27:04.7) and Angel Maese(27:20.8) closed out the Aggie efforts in The Sooner State.

UP NEXT
NM State will take an extended break to prepare for their regular season finale, the Arturo Barrios Invitational, held on Saturday, Oct. 16, hosted by Texas A&M at the Watts Cross Country Course. This will serve as the largest meet of the season for the Crimson & White, as their precursor for the 2026 Confernece USA Cross Country Championships, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 31.
