Gadsden Schools Delay Tuesday Start as Heavy Rain Threatens Flood-Damaged Roads

Gadsden Independent School District will delay the start of classes by two hours Tuesday as another round of heavy rain threatens areas already affected by flooding and road damage.

The district announced the delay Monday evening, saying recent rainfall has left parts of the district dealing with flooding and damaged roads. Additional rain is expected overnight, and the delayed start will give district teams time Tuesday morning to assess road conditions.

The district said families will be notified by 6:30 a.m. if conditions require any additional changes to Tuesday’s schedule.

Officials also urged motorists to use caution Tuesday morning and not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
