A single motorcycle crash critically injured a 20-year-old man late Sunday evening on Camino Coyote Lane.
About 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the crash that occurred on Camino Coyote Lane east of Sonoma Ranch Boulevard. First responders arrived to find the 20-year-old driver of the motorcycle with multiple, critical injuries.

Traffic investigators believe the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed west on Camino Coyote Lane when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The motorcycle went off the roadway and struck a street sign.
Police believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
