The City of Las Cruces celebrated more than five decades of service at Fire Station 3 with a ceremony recognizing the station’s history and marking the beginning of construction on a new Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) facility.
Fire Station 3 has served the west side of Las Cruces since 1968. The City’s Celebration of Service honored that history while highlighting plans to continue providing community services at the same location.
The new building will house the Las Cruces Fire Department’s Mobile Integrated Health program and LIGHT (Lessening Instance of Grief Harm & Trauma) team.
The groundbreaking represents a transition for the historic site, extending its role in community care beyond traditional fire and emergency response services.
