Last year’s event brought together law enforcement, criminal justice partners, civil agencies and service providers. Participating organizations included the New Mexico Missing Persons Clearinghouse, Office of the Medical Investigator, Indian Affairs Department, Department of Health and divisions of the Health Care Authority.

DNA collection services were also available through Albuquerque’s Combined DNA Index System to assist in identifying unidentified remains.

The 2025 event followed a day of specialized training for law enforcement officers, covering evidence collection, interviews, interagency cooperation and missing persons alert procedures.

“We were proud to provide this crucial training for law enforcement personnel from all around the state and support New Mexicans with missing family members with these services,” said DPS Deputy Cabinet Secretary Sylvia Serna following last year’s event.

Families and other interested participants can register for the November 7 event through the department’s online registration form.
