LAS CRUCES, N.M. – This holiday season, celebrate New Mexico’s culture and traditions with the fourth edition of the New Mexico Taste the Tradition Holiday Lookbook, a 38-page online guide presented by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) that highlights a variety of locally grown and crafted products—perfect for everyone on your list.

Our broader community is well represented in this year’s Holiday Lookbook. Chef Becky Windels (FARMesilla) shares a couple of recipes placing the southern New Mexico palate front and center in what is considered to be the traditional taste of New Mexico.

From vibrant salsas and handcrafted seasonings to locally inspired teas, wines, and natural wellness products, the lookbook celebrates New Mexico’s farmers, ranchers, and artisans. It also offers exclusive holiday recipes from NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition Chef Ambassadors Julian Griego and Becky Windels to inspire your seasonal cooking.

With products on the shelves of most local grocery stores, the Fresh Chile Co. stands as a bellwether for chile products originating from our broader community. “NMDA is proud to share the 2025 New Mexico Taste the Tradition Holiday Lookbook,” said New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte. “It highlights the creativity of local producers who make New Mexico’s food and gifts unique. It’s a great way to celebrate the season while supporting those who help our state thrive.”

The lookbook, which includes businesses that were featured in this year’s New Mexico State Fair Country Store, has already proved to boost small business visibility and sales.

The winery that sits proudly on our “little” Avenida, D.H. Lescombes represents with distinction our broader community in the 2025 Holiday Lookbook.

Starting on Thanksgiving Day, the lookbook can be viewed on the Elevate New Mexico Agriculture website. Shoppers are encouraged to explore it early and make their purchases in time for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29.

Make your holidays unforgettable by choosing local—and giving a little piece of New Mexico to those you care about.
