Map: LCPS to Distribute Holiday Meals for Kids December 17

Before Las Cruces Public Schools sends students home for the winter break, the LCPS Nutrition Services team will distribute meal kits for children ages one to 18 starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17. The meals will be distributed from the Nutrition Services warehouse on Tashiro Drive, and traffic in the area will be impacted.

Starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, Tashiro Drive between Motel Boulevard and Valley Drive will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic. Families who would like to pick up meal kits are asked to enter the Field of Dreams parking lot using the Motel Boulevard entrance west of the field. To accommodate expected traffic congestion, traffic will be routed through the Field of Dreams parking lot and into the Nutrition Services parking lot at 2101 Tashiro Drive. As traffic exits the parking lot, cars will be directed in a left-hand turn only lane back onto Tashiro Drive towards Valley Drive. Law enforcement will be assisting with traffic, and motorists are asked to slow down, watch for pedestrians, and obey posted signs.

Children must be in the vehicle at the time of pickup, and children that qualify will receive two meal kits, each containing five breakfast meals and five lunch meals.
