Softball: Aggies Drop 3–1 Decision at Missouri State

Early home run gives Aggies lead before Missouri State responds.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – NM State returned to action Friday afternoon at Killian Stadium as the Aggies continued their weekend series against Missouri State. The Aggies struck first but were held in check the rest of the way as the game unfolded into a tight pitching duel. NM State dropped a 3–1 decision in the middle game of the series. 

Game – Missouri State 3, NM State 1 

NM State opened the scoring in the first inning when Bachman connected for a solo home run, giving the Aggies an early lead. Missouri State responded with a two‑run home run in the third before adding the eventual game‑winning run in the fifth. Despite limiting Missouri State to three runs, NM State was unable to generate additional offense, finishing with one hit on the day.

  • Madi Bachman accounted for NM State’s lone run with a solo home run in the first inning.  
  • Taryn Bennett pitched six innings, allowing three runs while working through traffic.

NM State wraps up the weekend series against Missouri State on Saturday, May 2, with first pitch set for 11 a.m. at Killian Stadium, as the Aggies look to close the regular season on a strong note.
