On Friday, July 17, 2026, New Mexico State Police officers successfully recovered a reported stolen vehicle after an alert from an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., NMSP officers initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near mile marker 34 after an ALPR system alerted that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
During the investigation, officers learned the vehicle’s owner had loaned it to a friend, who then allowed another individual to take possession of it without the owner’s permission. The owner confirmed he never authorized the third party to use the vehicle and had reported it stolen.
The driver, identified as Zachary Agan (37) was arrested, and the stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
