SANTA FE — The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) launched a Medicaid Partner Toolkit to help community organizations, health care providers, advocates and other partners explain upcoming federal Medicaid changes.
A SNAP Partner Toolkit is also available to help partners share information about SNAP changes already in effect.
The Medicaid toolkit includes ready-to-use flyers, posters, social media graphics, influencer content, member guides and answers to common questions. Partners can use these materials to explain the changes and help members understand what steps they may need to take to keep their coverage.

Beginning in 2027, some adults enrolled in Medicaid will need to meet work or activity rules when they renew their coverage or report why the requirements do not apply to them. Medicaid renewals for affected adults will occur every six months instead of every 12 months. The period of retroactive coverage for new applicants in this eligibility category will also be reduced to one month.
“Patients often turn to their health care providers and community partners when they have questions about their Medicaid coverage,” said Alanna Dancis, acting Medicaid director. “As a provider who sees patients, I know how important those conversations are. I encourage fellow providers to use these materials to help patients understand what’s changing, what notices to watch for and what steps to take to keep their coverage.”
The SNAP toolkit provides materials about federal SNAP changes already in effect, including expanded work and activity rules. Partners can share both toolkits through social media, newsletters and websites; post materials in clinics, offices and community spaces; and use them at meetings and events.
“SNAP customers need information they can use now,” said Niki Kozlowski, acting deputy secretary and Income Support Division director. “We’re asking partners to share these resources with the people they serve and help them understand any action they need to take to keep their benefits.”
The toolkits are part of HCA’s Keep Your Benefits NM outreach effort. HCA asks partners to help reach people across the state, including rural and Tribal communities.
HCA urges Medicaid and SNAP customers to keep their contact information current and respond to HCA notices received in a turquoise envelope. Customers can update their information using the chat at yes.nm.gov, by calling 1-800-283-4465 or by visiting a local HCA Income Support Division office.
Partners can download the Medicaid and SNAP Partner Toolkits. Information about both programs and additional resources are available at hca.nm.gov/keepyourbenefitsnm. HCA will continue to add and update materials as more information becomes available.
