LAS CRUCES, N.M. – It was announced this week that NM State Athletics recorded the best single-year average Academic Progress Rate (APR) in school history, posting a department-wide average of 995 for the 2024–25 academic year.
Five programs earned perfect multi-year APR scores of 1000 and were recognized as being in the top 10 percent nationally in their respective sports: men’s golf, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s tennis and track & field.

Additionally, 12 NM State programs posted perfect single-year APR scores of 1000. Those programs include men’s basketball, men’s cross country, men’s golf, men’s tennis, women’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, softball, soccer, swimming & diving, women’s tennis and women’s track & field.
The Aggies’ previous highest single-year average APR came in 2023–24, when NM State programs combined to record a score of 986.
