NMSU ROTC to host 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Friday

Honor guards will present U.S. and state flags. A procession of uniformed bag pipers will lead the initial wave of participants to the stair climb.

WHAT: To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, New Mexico State University’s Army ROTC in coordination with NMSU Police and Fire and the City of Las Cruces Police and Fire, will host the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor the lives lost and remember the heroes. 



WHO: Free and open to the public. 

WHEN: From 6 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.

WHERE: Aggie Memorial Stadium.

VISUALS: Attendees and spectators are expected to see a deeply moving combination of solemn ceremonial tributes, intense physical exertion and powerful symbolic imagery. Honor guards will present U.S. and state flags. A procession of uniformed bag pipers will lead the initial wave of participants to the stair climb. A diverse mix of local civilian climbers of all ages and fitness levels will move alongside active-duty personnel, illustrating community solidarity.
