(December 31, 2025) Mesilla Marshals Office hosted ‘Advanced Crime Scene Photography’ to Crime Scene Units from law enforcement agencies, El Paso Sheriff’s Office, Mesilla Marshals Office, Sunland Park Police Dept., Eddy County Sheriffs Office, TorC Police Dept., NASA Police Dept., Horizon City Police Dept., Anthony Texas Police Dept., and Students from Dona Ana Branch Community College Criminal Justice.
Mesilla Marshal Ben Azcarate, Lt. Tress Diaz and Sgt. Detective Danny Garcia, issued certificates to all attendees after passing the challenging photography course in Crime Scene Photography and non-Crime Scene Creative Photography. All were taught to strengthen their knowledge, skills and abilities—most of all to develop a photographer’s eye.
Deputy Tyler Knull won the best photo and received a brand new tripod. Mesilla Marshals Crime Scene Photographer Khang Tran (Vietnam/NMSU Student) received a certificate for CSI Photographer of the Year, and Carolina Tarin was honored as Intel Supervisor of the Year.

Two birthdays were celebrated with a cake: Mario Galvan (Sunland Park Police) and Sgt. Danny Garcia.
Next 2026 class will be Forensic Photography in a Lab setting.
